KUSO英文小辭典／Let’s check things out!！我們去壓馬路吧！

中文的「壓馬路」通常指「逛街；在街上閒晃」，英文有個看似類似的說法：hit the road （×），但是這片語卻是「出發；動身前往…；啟程」之意，不是「壓馬路」。要表達「壓馬路」的概念，英文可以說：Let’s check things out!、Let’s go downtown! 或者 Let’s run around today! 都有「我們去外面晃晃」之意，若要表達「逛街」，也可說：Let’s go window shopping!

例句：

A：It’s such a nice day out, and we’re at home watching Korean soap operas!

B：Why don’t we check things out?

A：天氣這麼好，我們竟然窩在家裡看韓劇！

B：那要不要去壓馬路啊？
